Last night during our live burn training at The Town of Onondaga Training Center, we had two members going for their interior firefighter status.

Both of these members have met all qualifications within the department and passed the NYS BEFO/IFO classes.

As a new tradition the Mattydale Fire Department has changed the way we identify our firefighters on a fire ground. Yellow helmets are our exterior firefighters and black helmets are for our interior firefighters. F/F Sweeney (left) and F/F Sampson (right) received their black helmets last night presented to them by the line officers.
