Visit Us: Stop by our station any time between 9 am and 2 pm, Monday to Friday, or join us on Tuesday nights at 7 pm. Ask for a membership application, and our dedicated firefighters will not only provide you with the necessary paperwork but also give you an exclusive tour of our state-of-the-art station. Feel free to ask any questions about becoming a firefighter.

Requirements: To qualify as a Mattydale Firefighter, you need to be a NYS resident, be over 18, and hold a high school diploma or GED.

First-Year Milestones: Upon joining, our new firefighters are expected to achieve the following within their first year:

• Pass Firefighter 1 or EMT Certification
• Complete New Firefighter Training
• Attend at least half of the scheduled drills and meetings throughout the year
• Successfully fulfill assigned tasks, including "Truck Checks"

The Mattydale Fire Department proudly serves a 1.9-square-mile area, responding to an average of 1,200 emergency calls annually. Our dedicated team, comprised of firefighters and highly skilled medical providers ranging from EMTs to Paramedics, is committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of our community.

Notably, we offer a unique Junior Firefighter program for individuals aged 13-19, providing a gateway for the next generation to engage with and contribute to our mission. There are diverse membership opportunities, catering to those interested in medical services, firefighting, or a combination of both. We also welcome administrative-only members who play a crucial role in supporting our operations through clerical duties.
