~Hard Work Pays Off~

This morning members of the Mattydale Fire Department anlong with the Mattydale Junior Fire Department and Hinsdale Volunteer Fire Department went to the Clay Fire Department to participate in live fire scenarios. At the Mattydale Fire Department is it a requirement to participate in at least one of these scenarios a year to keep or obtain their “interior firefighter” status.

Today we had five firefighters going for their interior status for the first time with us. Two members just recently completed the NYS BEFO/IFO class last week. These two members have worked very hard for the last 16+ weeks to be New York State certified. The other three members come to Mattydale with previous experience from other fire departments.

After the drill the chiefs office was proudly able to provide the five new interior firefighters with their black fire helmets signifying their new status. Please help us congratulate those who have worked hard and deserve it!
